Leadership for St. Joseph County
Rafael Morton is a dedicated public servant and long time leader of the St. Joseph County Council who is running for County Commissioner to be the voice of working families in our community.
With a proven track record of serving the people and advocating for positive change, Rafael Morton is committed to bringing real solutions to the challenges that our community faces.
Rafael Morton was raised in South Bend and graduated from LaSalle High School. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Marketing & Advertising from the Indiana University Bloomington School of Business.
Rafael is the current Vice President Pro-Tempore of the St. Joseph County Council, on which he has served since 1992, including as Council President from 2003 - 2022.
Among the many additional ways that Rafael has contributed to the South Bend and St. Joseph County communities are through his service on numerous boards, including as Chairman of the South Bend Rotary Club Annual Thanksgiving Baskets Drive, which serves over 150 local families in need, the St. Joseph County REAL Services Board, and the St. Joseph County Community Corrections Board and several other public and private boards.
